Description

This is a supernova remnant that emits energy in both optical and x-rays.  It is about 10000 light years across.  It's apparent size in the sky is about the same as the full moon.
The nova created an outer gas shell that expanded to the point that it ruptured.

The image is a SHORGB mix.  It is very strong in Ha which is the orange/red color.  The upper part of the shell in this image is strong in OIII that shows as blue.
